The Gauntlet

How It Works

The Gauntlet presents a series of questions with increasing difficulty. Each one you get right deposits multiplied points into a temporary bank. After each correct answer, you choose: cash out and keep what you've earned, or press on for a bigger multiplier on the next question. Get one wrong and the entire bank is gone. But your hearts are safe — the only thing at stake is the banked points.

Why It Matters

The Gauntlet is one of the few modes where you're in control of when to stop. That makes it a strategy test as much as a knowledge test. Cashing out early is always safe, but the multiplier growth means the final question is worth dramatically more than the first. Knowing when to walk away is the whole game.

Tips

  • If the first question is in a weak category, consider cashing out early
  • The difficulty ramps up, so the last question is always the hardest
  • Unlike most modes, there's no timer pressure beyond the standard clock
  • All lifelines are disabled, so you're on your own
