How It Works
Three treasure chests appear — Ruby, Emerald, and Sapphire. Each hides a mystery modifier paired with a hidden question. You pick a chest, all three open to reveal what was inside each one, and then you play the question from the chest you chose. Answer correctly and the modifier activates. Answer wrong and you lose the modifier, but your hearts are protected. Lifelines are disabled during the Mystery Box question.
Why It Matters
Mystery Box is the most luck-dependent mode, but that's part of the appeal. Sometimes you'll get multiplied points on an easy question. Sometimes you'll get a gamble modifier on a hard one. The reveal of all three chests — showing what you could have had — is always a moment.

Tips
- There's no way to know what's in each chest, so don't overthink the choice
- Some modifiers persist after the Mystery Box round (like Streak Shield), so getting those on an easy question is ideal
- Your hearts are safe, so there's very little downside to this mode
- The gamble modifier is the only one with a real penalty on a wrong answer
